FAQs
What services does SODOG provide?
We pride ourselves on only providing dog daycare. This allows us to focus on our core business and provide the best care possible for all your fur babies. We also offer A La Carte services as an add-on for daycare clients.
Is SODOG taking new clients?
Yes, we are!
How do I sign my dog up?
Our booking system is entirely online. You can sign up via our book now page on our website or for ease, you can download the ‘Gingr for pet parents’ app on the App Store (iOS or Android). Enter the facility code: 399552.
Next, create a login and password. After that, you need to fill in the required information about yourself and your dog.
Lastly, you need to upload your dog’s valid vaccine certificates. We will approve those for you, then you are ready to sign your dog up for a trial day!
Please note: we require a clear certificate with a breakdown of each vaccine, the date it was administered and the date it is next due.
If you have uploaded the vaccine certificates to your dog’s profile but are still receiving an alert stating that you are missing vaccine information, this alert will remain on your profile until we have reviewed the vaccine certificates. Please send us an email if you are waiting for your dogs vaccine certificates to be reviewed. Please also allow 24-48 hours for us to review vaccine certificates.

What vaccines does my dog need to attend daycare at SODOG, and what paperwork do you need?
To attend daycare with us, all dogs must have up-to-date vaccines for Bordetella, DAPP2 (distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza & parvovirus), and Rabies. You must provide vaccine certificates for these before their first visit with us.
We will reject your request if we haven’t received the correct paperwork or if their vaccines are out of date. Please note that we do not accept receipts for vaccines, only certificates.
Are all staff trained in pet care?
All staff are required to be experienced in pet care and complete online training with The Dog Gurus to provide the best possible care to our clients.
Do you have separate playrooms for different sized dogs?
Yes, we segregate our playrooms based on size and temperament. We have a tiny, small, medium, and large dog playroom.

Does SODOG have a capacity limit?
Yes! We are proud to say that we have a capacity for daycare, which ensures our rooms don’t get overcrowded and allows us to provide excellent care and supervision.
How many dogs are in each playroom?
We like to stick to a manageable 15 dogs per playroom for safety.
Please note: if your dog is showing signs that they might be a flight risk, we may decide it is too unsafe to walk them downtown. Please note: Walks are weather-dependent. We do not walk dogs in extremely hot or freezing temperatures.
Can I drop my dog off any time during the day?
No, drop-off times must be between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. We do not accept dogs later than 10 a.m. This is purely for the safety and happiness of the dogs in our care, as they can become unsettled and sometimes anxious if dogs are coming and going at all different hours.
What does a trial day look like for my dog?
A trial day is your dog’s first day to see if they are a good fit for daycare at SODOG. We will assess your dog’s behavior throughout the day, including if they show any signs of anxiety, how they interact with other dogs and staff, and their play style.
You will receive a rundown of their day via a report card that will be sent to your email address on file. Report cards are only created for your dog’s trial day. Thereon, we are happy to provide you with verbal feedback upon collection from daycare.
What day is best for a trial day?
We recommend scheduling trial days on a Monday or Friday due to these days being much quieter than Tuesday through Thursday. We also recommend bringing your dog in as early as possible so they can get here before most other dogs; this usually helps them settle in better.
What do I need to bring?
Bring your dog, their collar and a harness for a potty breaks or walk. If they have any meals throughout the day, you can bring those along too, and we will feed them for you. Everything else we have here.
Can my dog get sick even though they have had all their vaccinations?
Yes, if your dog is socializing with other dogs, there is still a risk (although minimal around vaccinated dogs at daycare) that they can catch a contagious illness from another dog, as we cannot control what dogs are exposed to outside of daycare.
The Bordetella vaccine helps keep your dog’s symptoms at bay if they were to get sick, but Bordetella has many different strains; therefore, the vaccine cannot protect your dog against all strains of the virus. Please consult with your vet for more information.
All dogs must be vaccinated to attend daycare at SODOG and must provide proof of each vaccine before attending.
What protocols does SODOG take to mitigate the spread of contagious illnesses?
All dogs attending SODOG must have valid vaccinations for Bordetella, DAPP2, and Rabies. SODOG will not accept a dog exhibiting any signs of a contagious illness.
If a dog is showing any symptoms of illness, they will be sent home immediately and will not be able to return until all symptoms have completely resolved.
Do you accept puppies?
We do accept puppies, but they must have their first three rounds of vaccines for DAPP2, Rabies, and Bordetella before they can attend. If they are over 9 months old, they must be spayed or neutered to participate in group play.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
You must give us at least 24 hours’ notice for all cancellations to get a full refund. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the booking, you will be charged 50% of the service. No-shows will be charged the full amount.
If your dog has to go home because of behavioural problems or contagious illness, you will be charged the full amount of your booking for that day.

We are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday. We are closed on weekends and all statutory holidays.
